Everyone in their lifetime will suffer from some type of back pain. Back pain is so common and there are a lot of unanswered questions. We will try to uncover some of these questions.

What causes Back Pain

The exact cause of pain in most back aches is very difficult to pin point, there are many things working in your back such as, discs, nerves, ligaments, cartilage, and of course muscles, and in fact all of these items can produce pain. Everyday activities such as lifting, exercise and playing sports can cause a pull or strain and potentially cause pain. Severe pain is usually caused by small tears in the outer layer of a spinal disc as well as degeneration causing inflammation, bulging, and even become herniated. If the injury is minor, it is more than likely to repair on its own. Often the pain experienced is caused by chemical substance being released in response to the irritation and or injury. The chemical substance surrounding the nerves causes the area to become inflamed and causes swelling which is also a contributing factor.

How Long Will the Pain Last

The duration of the pain is measured by the severity of the injury and classified as either acute or chronic. In most cases, acute pain usually lasts about a month or less or until the irritated area heals. Almost 80% of all lower back episodes are resolved within six weeks. Chronic pain that last months at a time are usually not caused by tissue damage or an injury, they can be associated with spine conditions or related factors as muscle loss, body weight, and stress.

How to Relieve Back Pain

Using over the counter medication such as acetaminophen and anti-inflammatory medications has been proven to be quite effective to reduce symptoms and maintain a level of comfort. Studies have shown one in five people will use prescription medication under the care of a Doctor such as muscle relaxers and even narcotics when dealing with sever back pain, especially when trying to facilitate sleep while dealing with the symptoms. These medications should be used only when prescribed by a physician.

Advice on Dealing with the pain

One of the most effective treatments for acute back pain is to stay as active as possible and not to remain stable in bed or on a sofa for long periods of time. Activity will get the blood and nutrients flowing to the affected areas and help speed recovery. It is not recommended to perform vigorous or uncontrolled activities such as weight lifting or contact sports when pain is severe. You must always consult with your Doctor before returning to these types of activity.

Ice or Heat

Both heat and ice are effective in reducing pain, but it is important to know when to use them. Ice should only be used with in first 48hrs of the injury and should be applied for only 20min every 2 hrs. After 48hr period heat can be applied to help reduce pain associated with muscle injury. Either dry heat such as an electric blanket or moist heat such as a steamed towel can be used

Do you keep yourself or your partner up that night with your snoring? Snoring is a common problem that can interrupt your sleep and cause you to lose valuable rest time. Some people snore quite loudly and it amazes their partners how much noise a person can make in the middle of the night. It can even cause some couples to have to alter their sleeping arrangements so that the non-snorer can actually get some rest. But if you happen to be a loud snorer, don’t worry because there are solutions out there. Here are some simple tips to stop snoring so that you and your love one don’t have to be separated by your night time noises.

The number one culprit of natural snoring is sleeping position. It’s best to avoid sleeping on your back, and try to elevate your head with some firm pillows if possible. Sleeping flat on your back will cause your muscles to relax in a position that is conducive to loud snoring. There are even devices on the market that strap to your back thereby forcing you to sleep on your side at night. This type of contraption is best for deep sleepers who aren’t likely to be fully aware of their surroundings while they are deep in slumber.

Snoring can have some artificial causes as well. Anything that makes you fall asleep faster and deeper such as alcohol, sleeping pills, with tranquilizers can lead you to snore very loudly. These types of substances will cause your muscles to relax to appoint where airflow will be extremely restricted. And of course, as aired tries to pass through those passages the resulting noise will be very noticeable.

Nasal strips are a handy way to limit snoring and can be readily a found in any drug store. A mouth guard works on the same principle, except that it focuses on your oral passages instead of your nasal ones. A snoring chin strap is a handy device that fits over your head to keep your jaw and mouth and an on snoring position. Some people don’t like the comfort level of the strap since it is essentially like wearing “underwear” on your head. But if it works for you, then it can be a viable option to prevent snoring at night. If your snoring persists, or it might have deeper underlying medical conditions then make sure to consult your doctor for a solution that will work for you. Not all stop snoring aids are created equally, and some might have to be individually tailored for a particular patient.

Even with the bottled water industry booming to a degree that your parents’ generation would find hard to comprehend, it’s still not unusual for men not to drink enough water during the course of the day – in the Western world, in the twenty-first century, we should be drinking at least two litres per day. Keeping your water levels replenished is absolutely vital, as around seventy percent of your body is water and making sure it stays that way means everything else has the correct environment within which to function.

We lose water through sweat, vapour escaping out of our mouths, urination and through our eyeballs. Yet it has to keep flowing to make sure everything moves around our system as it should and that waste is removed. So water needs to be constantly topped up. In fact, when you think you feel hungry it is more likely you are actually thirsty and in the initial stages of dehydration, so taking regular drinks will go a long way to stopping you snacking between meals.

Don’t try and quench your thirst with fizzy or sugary drinks, or even fruit juice, and definitely not beer, as these will not provide the water that your thirst is telling you your body needs and could result in your drinking more of them in an attempt to stave it off. Drink more water if the weather is warm or you have been exerting yourself physically, or if you have a cold, as coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose will use up fluid reserves. Also, a good habit to get into is to take a large drink of water as soon as you wake up in the morning, as your body will have been drying out while you slept.

When a drug is sold or purchased every nine seconds in every different corner of the world, there is little doubt about its popularity. Find out about Viagra, its history and its availability around the world.

The history of Viagra blue pills and their availability

When a drug attains a larger than life status, it becomes natural that more and more people will want to know about it. Viagra, a simple blue coloured pill, has become so popular worldwide, that millions of men have been asking for it across the world. Despite the addition of new drugs for erectile dysfunction, most men still prefer Viagra. It has a firm hold on the market and most people are loyal to it because of its time-tested safety and efficacy. Let us look at the interesting journey of Viagra from simple blue pills to a world famous ED drug.

Viagra history

Viagra has been around for a decade and has gone on to become the no. 1 erectile dysfunction drug. In 1985, a research group at Pfizer was working to develop a treatment for hypertension and heart problems. They found a medicine that would lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart by acting on an enzyme found in the walls of blood vessels.

It was in 1991 that scientists were convinced of the drug’s safety and efficacy and decided to go on for clinical trials. During this trial, some men reported a very noticeable side effect – the drug made it easy for them to achieve an erection. The prospect of treating erectile dysfunction seemed more appealing to researchers than treating angina, as there was no drug for erectile dysfunction at that time. Moreover, the effect of this drug on angina was not as promising as its effect on erectile dysfunction. In just six months, the health authorities were convinced of the safety and efficacy of Viagra (it usually takes 12 months to convince them) and from then on, there is no looking back.

Viagra has achieved phenomenal success and gained widespread popularity.

How does Viagra look?

The popularity of Viagra, makes many people wonder about the drug. This drug looks like any other medication and it’s just a diamond shaped pill in a blue colour. But Viagra fascinates men so much that they even go on about the lookout of the drug illegally, calling it diamond pills or little blue pills fondly.

Why is Viagra known as ‘blue pills’?

It is not known whether men called Viagra, ‘blue pills’ out of the need for discretion or just to give it a nickname out of fondness. The name of blue pills is as famous as Viagra and leads to authentic Viagra in search engines too. This means that even authorities are aware of the popularity of ‘blue pills’. However, if you search for blue pills on the internet make sure you get branded and genuine Viagra only and not a fake herbal supplement. Some unscrupulous vendors sell their products in the name of blue pills and some people are fooled because of their seemingly safe and secure policies.

Is Viagra available all over the places?

Whether you go to a chemist or a healthcare website on the internet, you will be able to find Viagra. It is available in 120 countries, such as Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, United Kingdom, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Bulgaria, Iceland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Singapore just to name a few. More than two million men prefer to buy Viagra from the internet despite the availability of it in their local pharmacies.

One of the best ways to prevent the growing rate of HIV infection or prevent the death of HIV victims is through educational charity.

The fight to stop the ravage effect of HIV/Aids on the global human community, especially within the poor population circles of the world, has ever placed inestimable cost on governments of the world in all aspects. As a matter of fact, it is estimated that HIV alone costs the worlds 20% of it best manpower and human resources. The direct implication is that Aid virus constitutes a great factors in draining the financial, economic and human resources.

Since its upsurge in the past decades, several organisations; both governmental, non-governmental, especially not-for-profit organisations and corporate bodies have fought relentlessly with all sincerity of purpose and love for the poor, to bring an end to the scourge of HIV through various measures including care giving, donations and charity, and other measures. Despite all these, the spread and infection rate of HIV, or the mortality rate of HIV related infections still remain a mind boggling issue for interest groups. Owing to this, the need to raise questions on the primary factors that help HIV to defile all possible preventive and curative measures has in the recent times become increasingly urgent; prompting few organisations like the ONE CAUSE to seek for better measures that will adequately address this very important issue in the fight against HIV.

The greatest factor identified by close monitors and observer organisations/groups as the key behind both the spread and mortality rate arising from HIV related infections is ignorance and illiteracy. As a matter of fact, ignorance and illiteracy has been specifically identified as the greatest undoing of the poor populations, especially women, youth and children within the rural settings of third world nations of Africa, Asia and few nations in South America. The inability of the poor to access information or basic knowledge packages on the necessary measures for the management of HIV infections by victims, prevention of the HIV infection makes them most vulnerable and completely endangered.

The direct implication of this fact is that the best measure towards tackling the problem of HIV and its associated effects is anti-illiteracy measures. This comes to present educational charity as the key to the prevention of the menace of HIV and related problems within the affected circles, especially among the poor populations of the world. As a matter of fact, without educational programs and enlightenment campaigns aimed at equipping the people with the necessary knowledge and information that will help them to prevent infection and spread, cure or manage post diagnosis trauma in HIV victims, all other possible efforts, no matter how well intended, cannot achieve the desired objective.
