It is important for everyone to exercise and to get the right amount of fruits and vegetables and nutrition for every day health and to help us live longer and happier lives. Men may worry about losing that “bear belly” or staying strong and looking good for those they love but it is also important to make sure that men get the proper nutrition for good prostate health to help them reduce their risk for cancer and other health concerns. It is important for men to know what they can to help them achieve good prostate health so that they can live long happy and healthy lives for themselves and their loved ones.

According to Men’s Health Online and an article entitled, “Prostate Nutrition Therapy for a Healthy Life“, many men may not realize they have a prostate problem until well into their forties and fifties because these problems may develop slowly with no signs or symptoms. It is important to start eating healthy and exercising early before you may have prostate problems to help prevent the risk for them later in life. Some research is being done about the Asian (European diet) because some studies show that Asian men have fewer prostate problems than American men. This may be because Asian men tend to eat a healthier diet with less saturated fat. Also, zinc and selenium have been linked to the prevention of benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. The prostate uses up more zinc than any other tissue in the body making zinc a vital mineral to have and making it important to get adequate amounts of it. Having enough zinc has been shown to decrease various prostate problems and diseases.

Some herbal extracts such as saw palmetto have been used to treat prostate related issues. Studies have shown that this extract has been used to help treat the lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH. Another herb that may be good for treating these symptoms is pygeum bark extract. It contains ester compounds that have been shown to affect growth factor mediated prostate growth as well as specific bladder functions.

It is important for men to get the proper nutrients and exercise not only for stronger bones and muscles and to look good, but for their health and bodies as well. Making sure to eat right early in life and to exercise regularly will help to reduce the risk of prostate problems later in life. It is important to also continue to go for regular doctor visits and exams. Following these tips, will help men to remain strong and healthy throughout their lives.
